Turn the month's reports into a one-page board summary

Claude reads the month's department and finance reports and writes what the board needs: key numbers against plan, what went well and badly, risks, and the decisions you need.

    Where things are in Claude

    • CustomizeConnectors In Claude's left sidebar: connect your email and files.
    • /schedule Type it in a new Cowork task to run a prompt on a schedule.
    • Scheduled In Claude's left sidebar: what runs, to pause or change it.
  2. 01
Once for the whole company: your Microsoft admin approves Claude's Microsoft 365 connector and turns on its write tools, so Claude can save drafts and files. If connecting asks for an admin's approval, this is still to do: send them this step.
  3. 02
Each month, save the department reports and the month's figures in a OneDrive folder called Board, next to last month's summary.
  4. 03
Connect Microsoft 365 under CustomizeConnectors, for OneDrive and SharePoint.
  5. 04
Type /schedule, paste this workflow's prompt and pick Manual. Run it once the month's reports are in, and check the marked numbers before it goes to the board.
Set this up on your computer: the Claude desktop app runs it.
The prompt
  1. 1
Read this month's reports in my "Board" folder and last month's board summary.
  2. 2
  3. 3
Write this month's summary as a one-page Word document in the same folder:
  4. 4
    1. Three lines: how the month went and the one thing the board must know.
  5. 5
    2. The key numbers against plan and last month: revenue, margin, cash, order intake, on-time delivery, and any others last month's summary used.
  6. 6
    3. Two or three things that went well and two or three that did not, each with the report it comes from.
  7. 7
    4. Risks for the next three months, and the decisions we need from the board, each with a recommendation.
  8. 8
  9. 9
Use only what is in the reports. If two reports give different numbers, mark both instead of choosing one.
If your company keeps company financials out of AISafe version
The finance reports stay out of the folder, and every financial figure is left as a [FINANCE] gap for you or your finance lead to fill. The rest comes from the other reports.
