Know every tax and social security deadline this month, and what each one needs

At the start of each month Claude reads the official tax and social security calendars, keeps the deadlines that apply to your company, and lists what each one needs from you. It drafts a note to your accountant on who sends what by when.

    Where things are in Claude

    • CustomizeConnectors In Claude's left sidebar: connect your email and files.
    • /schedule Type it in a new Cowork task to run a prompt on a schedule.
    • Scheduled In Claude's left sidebar: what runs, to pause or change it.
  2. 01
Once for the whole company: your Microsoft admin approves Claude's Microsoft 365 connector and turns on its write tools, so Claude can save drafts and files. If connecting asks for an admin's approval, this is still to do: send them this step.
  3. 02
Ask your outside accountant which returns and payments your company makes, how often, and who prepares each one. Save the answer in your Finance folder as "Our filings".
  4. 03
Connect Microsoft 365 and Web search under CustomizeConnectors, and in Cowork connect your Finance folder in OneDrive or SharePoint (the one synced to this computer).
  5. 04
Type /schedule, paste this workflow's prompt and pick Manual. It waits under Scheduled; run it on the first working day of each month.
  6. 05
Check each date against the official page it names before you plan around it, and send the note to your accountant yourself. Claude only drafts; you send.
Set this up on your computer: the Claude desktop app runs it.
The prompt
  1. 1
List every tax and social security deadline this month that applies to us, and what each one needs.
  2. 2
  3. 3
    1. Find this month's official tax calendar on the tax authority's website, and the social security authority's deadlines, on the web. Name each page you used and the date it shows. Also look for any official notice this month that moves a deadline.
  4. 4
    2. Keep only what applies to us, from the "Our filings" note in my Finance folder: the returns and payments we make, how often, and who prepares each one.
  5. 5
    3. For each one, in date order: the deadline exactly as the official page states it, the return or payment, what it needs from us (documents, lists, figures), who prepares it, and whether money is paid with it. If our accountant's figures for the month are in my Finance folder, add the amount to pay.
  6. 6
    4. Mark everything due in the next 5 working days, and anything where the official page and our note disagree.
  7. 7
    5. Draft a short email to our outside accountant: the list, what we will send and by when, and our questions. Save it as a draft in my email. If you cannot save drafts, put it in your answer for me to copy. Do not send anything.
  8. 8
  9. 9
Write the list as a sheet in my Finance folder named with the month. Never give a date from memory: if you cannot find it on an official page, write [CHECK: what is missing] and where to look.
