Plan this week's supplier payments, cheques and notes against the cash you have
Every Monday Claude reads what you owe this week, the cheques and promissory notes falling due, and the cash in the bank, and drafts a payment plan: what must go out, what can go out, and what can wait. It never pays anything.

Where things are in Claude
- CustomizeConnectors In Claude's left sidebar: connect your email and files.
- /schedule Type it in a new Cowork task to run a prompt on a schedule.
- Scheduled In Claude's left sidebar: what runs, to pause or change it.
- Write a short "Payment rules" note in your Finance folder: the minimum cash to keep in the bank, your payment days, the suppliers that must always be paid on time and why, and who approves payments.
- Each Monday before 9:00, 10 minutes: fill in a "Payables" sheet in a Payments folder inside your Finance folder: open supplier invoices, the cheques and promissory notes you gave, and each bank account's balance. Ask Claude once to create the sheet with those columns.
- Connect Google Drive under CustomizeConnectors. Keep this workflow's files in one Drive folder called Finance.
- Type /schedule, paste this workflow's prompt and pick Weekly, Monday at 9:00.
- Decide the payments yourself and make them in your bank as you always do. Claude only drafts the plan.
- It runs while your computer is on and Claude is open. A Monday it was off is skipped, not queued.
Set this up on your computer: the Claude desktop app runs it.
The prompt
- Every Monday at 9:00, plan this week's payments from the newest files in the Payments folder inside my Finance folder: the "Payables" sheet, the cheques and promissory notes we gave, each bank account's balance, and the money we expect in this week. Follow the "Payment rules" note in my Finance folder.
- 1. The cash: each bank account's balance, plus the money expected in this week (customer invoices due this week and cheques we hold that fall due), minus the minimum cash the note says to keep.
- 2. Must pay: every cheque and promissory note we gave that falls due this week, with its account and date. These come first.
- 3. Pay: supplier invoices due this week or already late, the suppliers the note marks as critical first, then by due date. If an "Invoice check" sheet is in my files, pay only the invoices it marks OK.
- 4. Can wait: what does not fit in the cash, with the supplier, the amount and how many days each would wait. Say which waits would hurt most: a critical supplier, a payment already late, or a supplier the note says stops deliveries when paid late.
- 5. Check: any invoice whose bank details differ from the supplier's earlier ones, any invoice listed twice, and any early payment discount the invoice states. Put a change of bank details at the top as "check by phone".
- 6. Give me one table: supplier, invoice or cheque, due date, amount, currency, and pay, wait or check. Keep each currency on its own and do not convert. Under it, what each account would have left by Friday.
- Draft the plan only. Do not pay, approve or schedule anything, and send nothing. Mark any number you are unsure of.
What you get
One table for the week, each line marked pay, wait or check, the cash each account would have left by Friday, and the waits that would hurt most marked.
