Example · Input

One month of my bank statement, about 90 rows — date, description exactly as the app shows it, and amount in ₹.

Example · Output

A transactions table (Date | Description | Amount | Category | N/W/S), a category summary sorted largest-first with % of spend and transaction counts, your headline total spend / income / net, and a 'couldn't read' list quoting anything unclear.

Prompt 01Free to read
Here is my bank / UPI / card statement. Sort every transaction into clear categories so I can see exactly where my money goes. Read all of it before you write anything.

Before you paste: keep only the transaction rows. Black out your full account/card number — leave at most the last 4 digits. Never paste CVV, PIN, OTP, UPI/net-banking password. Claude only sees what you paste and has no access to your bank.

MY STATEMENT (date, description, amount per row — paste it exactly as it appears):
[PASTE YOUR TRANSACTIONS]

Rules I need you to follow exactly:
- Currency: work out the currency from what I paste (₹ / Rs / INR = rupees, R$ / BRL = reais, $ / USD = dollars) and use only that one throughout. If it's genuinely ambiguous, ask me before continuing. Never mix currencies.
- Use only the numbers that actually appear in what I paste. Never invent, estimate, or round a figure to make things add up. Show the arithmetic behind every total.
- If a row is unreadable or you can't tell what it is, do not guess — put it in the 'couldn't read' list and quote it exactly.
- Reply in the language I wrote in.

Use ONLY these categories — do not invent new ones. Each has a fixed tag: N = Need, W = Want, S = Savings (this is the 50/30/20 split).
- Housing / Rent — N
- Utilities & Bills — N
- Groceries — N
- Eating Out & Delivery — W
- Transport & Fuel — N
- Shopping — W
- Health — N
- Entertainment & Subscriptions — W
- Loan / EMI — N
- Transfers to family — N
- Cash withdrawals — leave the tag blank and ask me what it usually goes on; cash could be anything
- Income / Credits — this is money in, not spending; no tag
- Uncategorized — only when nothing else fits

Give me, in this order:
1. A transactions table: Date | Description (exactly as I wrote it) | Amount | Category | N/W/S.
2. A category summary table, largest spend first: Category | Total | % of spend | # of transactions. Percentages are of total spend, not income.
3. The headline — three numbers with the sum shown: Total spend · Total income · Net (income − spend).
4. A 'couldn't read — please clarify' list. Quote the exact original text of every line you weren't sure about and ask me the one thing you need to know.

Then state: 'Totals reconcile to the [N] lines you pasted' — or tell me exactly which lines don't add up.

End with one next action: confirm the cash withdrawals and any unclear lines, then run the Budget prompt on these same categories.

This is educational, not financial, tax, or investment advice, and I only worked from the numbers you pasted, so glance over the totals before you act on them — and take any big money decision to a qualified professional you trust.
