What Claude Cowork is

Claude Cowork is agentic knowledge work, right inside the Claude desktop app. You hand off a task and Claude actually works on your files, folders, and connected apps to bring back a finished deliverable.

If you've heard of Claude Code, think of Cowork as that same power aimed at knowledge work instead of software. Same idea: describe a real task, watch Claude plan and execute it step by step. But there's no terminal, no commands to memorize. You just write what you want in plain language.

Cowork is not Chat

Chat is a conversation. You ask, Claude answers, you copy the answer somewhere yourself.

Cowork is a working session. Claude doesn't just tell you what to do: it does the work. It reads your spreadsheet, reorganizes the folder, drafts the doc, and hands you the result.

So the mental shift is small but important:

• In Chat you get advice.
• In Cowork you get a deliverable.

Who it's for
